UBHS achieves Gold for mental health excellence
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Upper Batley High School has been awarded the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools – Gold status! This is our three year reaccreditation, which demonstrates our continued commitment to mental health here.
At Upper Batley, wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We are deeply committed to ensuring that both learners and staff feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. Our school is more than just a place of learning - it is one big family, where a caring and dedicated staff team looks out for learners, offering support during life’s inevitable challenges, as well as moments of celebration.
We are incredibly fortunate to have an outstanding Pastoral Team and a dedicated school counsellor on-site, ensuring that every young person has access to the guidance, care, and support they need to thrive.
We strongly believe that wellbeing is not just an ‘add-on’ or a tick-box exercise - it is deeply embedded in our school culture. Our achievement of the Gold School Mental Health Award reflects the meaningful and impactful work taking place within our school community to prioritise mental health and wellbeing for both learners and staff.
This prestigious recognition reinforces our dedication to creating a supportive, inclusive, and welcoming school environment, where every learner has the opportunity to flourish and succeed.
