Our core values for all our young people are to Believe, Achieve and Succeed, and our fantastic school culture both encourages and enables learners to work hard to be the best versions of themselves each and every day.

 

Our staff team works extremely hard to help build learners’ confidence, develop their essential skills and support them to grow and flourish in their learning, and in life. Last week, all year groups have participated in our ‘high expectations’ and ‘positive behaviour culture’ assemblies which set out the high standards we expect of learners' work ethic and behaviour.

 

Over the summer, our facilities team has also worked hard to make a number of improvements to the learning environment. The Science department has had a refresh with new flooring and seating. In the Bistro we have introduced a new kiosk, which allows our School Council learners to sell healthy snacks and drinks to raise funds for their chosen charities.

 

We have also had new LED lighting installed across all areas of the school site, which has improved the quality of lighting in classrooms to help improve vision and maintain high concentration levels. Water dispensers have been installed around the site, which encourage learners to use refillable water bottles and reduce plastic waste. We have many plans for the future to continue to improve the learning environment for our young people.

 

Our theme for this week is, determination, and we will be working on developing learner’s resilience and independent learning skills in lessons.

 

It is helpful to your child's education if you're also able to discuss with them what they have been learning each week. By encouraging them to recall their knowledge and understanding, as part of their homework, it really helps to consolidate their learning. We believe that if home and school work well together, our young people have better opportunities in the future.
