Training and development - teachers of tomorrow
Upper Batley has a highly skilled and talented staff team with a number of our expert teachers classed as Specialist Leaders in their respective subject areas/field. Many of our leaders have completed or are working towards their National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). Similarly, we have a group of Early Career Teacher (ECT) Fellows who deliver specific training to support new teachers and help make the transition into teaching smoother.
This week Mr Parkin (Assistant Head for Teaching & Learning) and Mrs Kola (Associate Assistant Head) delivered a teaching and learning conference to 28 ECTs from across Kirklees and Calderdale. We work closely with the Calderdale and Kirklees Teaching School Hub in delivering bespoke programmes set out by Ambition School Leadership.
Teaching is a challenging profession, yet a very rewarding one. We are committed to continuously developing the skills and knowledge of all our staff in school and we are proud that our work supports many new teachers in our cluster. ECTs – you have joined a great profession, one that creates all other professions. We hope you have a long and successful career in teaching ahead of you.
