Our brilliant Stronger Together Parent/Carer Forum meet every half term to discuss developments in school and provide us with quality feedback and ideas to help move the school further forward.
During our recent meetings we discussed various topics such as; curriculum, educational trips/visits, school holidays and much more. The group is very supportive of the school and values the work we do in raising aspirations and supporting learners to make good progress.
Our great work was further verified by parents/carers in our last set of surveys where 100% of parents/carers stated that ‘I would recommend Upper Batley High School to others’.
We had a fantastic year in 2023 and want to make 2024 even better with your support and involvement in the Stronger Together group. Our next meeting takes place:
Tuesday 30 January 2024 at 9:15am
In the Jo Cox Conference (on the school site)
Everyone is welcome to join!
Keeping our children safe - parking and traffic
We kindly request that all parents/carers take extra care when dropping off/ picking up their child. Please park down one side of Batley Field Hill and York Road please. This ensures all children are safe and traffic can keep flowing on the roads. It has been noticed a number of parents/carers have been blocking residents' driveways, which is unacceptable, and also parking on pavements which forces children to walk into the road to get around parked cars and this is not safe.
Where possible please encourage your children to walk to and from school and/or meet your child at one of the local supermarket carparks, just off Bradford Road, or at a less busy street near school. We have had a number of local residents complaining about poor parking and school staff also witness this on a daily basis.
Local traffic police will be doing their rounds over the next few weeks and we don’t want any of our parents/carers receiving unnecessary fines, if this can be avoided. Together let’s keep all our children safe and support or local residents and community. Thank you for your support with this.
