Extra-curricular activities
Extra-curricular activities are an integral component of our school’s educational offer. Activities and visits in which our young people participate are part of everyday life at UBHS and are key to learners' personal development.
These opportunities we offer help our young people gain additional experiences outside of the classroom and further their knowledge across a wide variety of themes. We run a range of after-school clubs such as; football, cricket, badminton, futsal, table tennis, archery, croquet, forest school and gaming; as well as arranging visits to colleges, universities, theatres, field trips and residential stays. The insight acquired during these experiences inform their development alongside the knowledge gained in their curriculum-based studies.
Last week, learners had the opportunity to demonstrate their footballing skills during matches against Batley Grammar School. Year 11 won 4-0, Year 10 won 5-3 and to complete the hat trick of wins, Year 7 won their game 17-1! These were fabulous achievements and a real testament to the hard work and commitment of both staff and learners. These are the memories that will stay with our young people for the rest of their lives.
