Essential skills for future success
There are a variety of skills we hope to establish with all of our learners, while they are on their educational journey here with us, to prepare them for the world of work.
We use Skills Builder in school, which is a programme of study that learners work through during Inspire Tutor Time and this helps our young people develop and build on essential skills that employers identify as being essential to succeed in work environments.
Alongside this, staff in school work extremely hard to create a positive ethos for learning; teaching learners to be resilient, demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude and develop a strong work ethic.
This week, we are focused on a drive to show real commitment to various aspects of their life, including; their academic studies, family and friends, interests and hobbies, and a commitment to the things they feel fulfillment and satisfaction from. Abraham Lincoln famously said; “Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality”.
Commitment will be the focus of this week’s assemblies and we will be reminding learners what is possible if they work hard, persevere and commit to the things they believe in.
