At UBHS we have an excellent careers provision and have 100% in the Gatsby Benchmarks (only 14% of schools have this nationally). We achieve brilliant GCSE outcomes and build on great academic successes through our broad and rich curriculum but we focus on much more than this in school. We support learners to develop skills, knowledge and understanding that prepares them for the educational journey as well as preparing them for the careers ahead of them.

Our careers team regularly monitors the employment and skills gaps in industry (those that have been identified in the UK labour market) and we work on developing specific skills in school that will benefit learners in their future lives. Our Careers Advisor meets with learners on a one-to-one basis to identify and map their individual journeys which helps lead to future employment.

This builds on the careers development we deliver through our creative curriculum: employability skills in lessons, the Skills Builder programme during tutor time, scheduled mock interviews, work experience placements, our great partnership work with employers and much more.
