Broadening Horizons: Enriching Learners' Cultural Capital and Experiences

We are passionate about providing an exceptional education that extends far beyond the classroom. Our carefully planned, well-structured, and learner-led curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity, build confidence, and equip learners with the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. By building on prior knowledge and fostering a love for learning, we prepare every learner for success in their next steps - whether in further education, training, or employment.

However, education is about more than just academic achievement; it’s about developing well-rounded individuals with the character, resilience, and experiences to succeed in life. That’s why we are dedicated to enhancing learners’ cultural capital, providing them with invaluable opportunities to broaden their horizons, develop key skills, and explore new interests.

Last week, learners had the opportunity to take part in exciting enrichment projects, including:

The Young Green Briton Awards – Encouraging learners to explore sustainability and innovative solutions for a greener future.

The Asda House Enterprise Project – A fantastic business challenge that developed creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills.

Key Stage 4 Mock Interviews with Local Businesses – Providing real-world experience, boosting confidence, and preparing learners for future career opportunities.

These experiences have a huge positive impact on our learners, not only reinforcing classroom learning but also building key life skills that will benefit them for years to come.

At UBHS, we remain committed to offering rich and varied opportunities that inspire ambition, nurture talent, and empower every learner to achieve their full potential.
