Welcome back to a new academic year, we hope you've all had a wonderful summer break and we're really looking forward to seeing everyone.

The first day back for all learners is Wednesday 6 September 2023 and we expect learners to arrive at school at the following times:

Year 7: 8:30am
Years 8, 9, 10 & 11: 10:30am

Following on from our excellent results this summer, we have further great news to start the year; we are proud to announce that we have been selected as a Skills Builder Accelerator school. This means we have teamed up with an exceptional group of Skilled Leaders, schools and colleges to deliver the Skills Builder programme during our tutor time (Inspire). Learners work through activities to develop the essential skills required by colleges, universities and employers. In school, we provide an excellent education through our challenging and diverse curriculum, the care, support and guidance we offer learners is truly brilliant.

We are now building on our excellent Careers provision (100% Gatsby Benchmarks, only 14% of schools nationally have this) by providing our learners with a head start when they leave school and this is where Skills Builder comes into play. We are always looking for the next thing that will continue to grow and develop the amazing children of this school – Skills Builder delivers this. 

The programme allows us to focus on key areas of learners’ character development,  providing them with essential skills that they will be able to use effectively in employment and in later life. They will develop these skills at their own pace, review their development and continue to build on these further.
