    A Royal Visit to Batley

8 June 2022 (by Dominic Wroe (dwroe))

Welcome back and we hope you have had a great half term break, and a lovely jubilee weekend. This weekend we celebrated our wonderful Batley community and the great people who live and work here, and not just on National Thank You Day on Sunday, but we thank them each and every day. We thank our brilliant staff team for their superb work in our school; the parents & carers who support their sons and our school; and the young people themselves who we are so hugely proud of. We know our year 11 learners have been working hard over the half term break so they can excel in their examinations-we wish them the very best of luck over the next few weeks of their final exams. You can do it, this is your chance to shine!
Our family of schools managed to produce over 110m of handmade, bespoke bunting that was on display at the Tate Britain this weekend. Well done to everyone who took part in designing and making that Batley masterpiece. UBHS was even treated to a Royal Visit with the Queen overseeing the bunting production, proudly waving her Batley flag in our careers area and overseeing the delivery of the bunting to the national gallery in London (via Royal Mail of course!). Batley: It's all about beds, biscuits and brilliant education! Community makes Us.
