Platinum Jubilee 2022

UBHS recently applied for 130 trees, as part of The Queen's Green Canopy (QGC). Our application was successful, we received the trees and have distributed them throughout our Trust family of schools. The QGC is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites people from across the UK to 'Plant a Tree for the Jubilee'. Through the planting of trees, the QGC aims to create a legacy in honour of The Queen’s leadership of the Nation, which will benefit future generations.
UBHS wanted to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and share the celebrations across the other schools in Batley Multi Academy Trust as well as positively contributing to future national climate goals. We have now planted our trees at UBHS at the front of our school site so everyone can watch them grow and develop for generations of learners and visitors to come. Our school has a proactive environment group who worked hard to achieve the EcoSchool bronze award in just 12 months and are now working on securing the silver award.
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee is a celebration of how one woman has dedicated her life to service and to others, and learners at UBHS are also leaders in their own community for the benefit of learners in our school now, and the future generations who will learn here. Community Makes Us.
