    Happy New Year

4 January 2022 (by Dominic Wroe (dwroe))

Welcome back to the new year and the new school term. We hope you have all enjoyed some quality time with family, friends and loved ones over the Christmas period. We would like to thank our whole community for supporting our charity appeals in December. We raised money, and collected food and other essential items for Batley Food Bank, and generous people donated toys for local Christmas appeals. All of these things helped to keep our whole community happy, healthy and safe over the Christmas period. Thank you.

As we always say Community Makes Us, and in Batley we are very fortunate to have such a strong, supportive and collaborative local community. This term we are all working hard together to ensure all our learners are safe (by twice a week lateral flow testing and having our vaccinations and boosters as soon as we can), and we continue to wear face masks in our communal areas and corridors. We also now need to resume wearing face masks in our classrooms as well. Sanitising and washing hands regularly remains essential for everyone. At Upper Batley High School we work hard to ensure each and every one of our learners makes progress every single day, and great attendance is key to academic success.

Attendance was excellent throughout the Autumn term- well done everyone. We all work hard to be the best version of ourselves each and every day, and our community works hard to collectively raise great young people who have strong social skills, as well as great academic achievement. Our young people are our future leaders.
