    Children In Need

22 November 2021 (by Dominic Wroe (dwroe))

At Upper Batley High School (UHBS) our charity work is a key part of our work, and our School Council are very proactive throughout the academic year. On Friday 19th November UBHS turned yellow as we raised money for Children In Need. Pudsey Bear was everywhere. Our learners were able to wear one item of yellow clothing such as a yellow tie, or yellow shirt if they made a donation to this important charity. Staff paid to park, there was a bake sale and much more. The highlight of the day for many was the gunging. Brave members of staff put their names forward, and our learners paid to vote. Mr Linney was a great sport at 3pm when 4 very large tubs of thick, brightly coloured gunge came his way! Thank you Mr Linney, UBHS managed to raise over £820. This is a wonderful achievement in just one day- well done everyone.

Our staff dressed as Pudsey Bear whilst on duty on Batley Field Hill, and we would like to say a HUGE thank you to the lovely local people who saw us, and gave us cash donations to this great cause. Your kindness is very much appreciated. Community Makes Us.
