Climate Change- we all have a role to play in protecting our planet

15 November 2021 (by Dominic Wroe (dwroe))

Upper Batley High School is delighted that one of our brilliant geography teachers is the secondary education representative on the Kirklees Climate Commission. Miss Woods is the subject expert for both geography and Travel & Tourism, and she leads on our Eco Schools work. We were very proud to achieve the Eco Schools Award last academic year, and Miss Woods and a group of learners who are all passionate about the environment, work hard to ensure UBHS does whatever we can to recycle, reuse, and reduce waste in all areas of our school daily operations. Eco schools are all about empowering young people to take positive action to save their planet. Miss Woods was also part of a COP26 online meeting last week as part of her work with the Kirklees Climate Commission. Our mission at UBHS is always to be the very best version of ourselves, and this means all our young people are taking positive action for the role they play at home, in school, nationally and internationally. The time is always right, to do what is right.
