New year, new beginnings....
Happy New Year and a belated welcome back to everyone. We know, it’s a slower start to the year than we’d like, due to the snow and ice, but we really appreciate your support and understanding during what was a challenging time for everyone. We hope you have had a great winter break.
There were some great successes during 2024 and below are the highlights of our many achievements;
- We achieved brilliant GCSE outcomes in the summer.
- We had a fantastic Ofsted report and received great feedback about learners, staff and our school community.
- The Fischer Family Trust Foundation put UBHS in the Top 25% of all schools Nationally for our brilliant attendance.
- We were recognised for our brilliant work around learners' mental health and achieved the Gold School Mental Health Award.
- Skills Builder described us as "the BEST secondary school in the country for our contribution to the programme."
- We were nominated for the National Science Innovation Awards.
- Our new and brilliant Food Tech room was opened.
- We were Regional winners for the Modeshift Stars Award and have the Platinum Award.
- We were selected to become a UK Education Ambassador for language diversity by Pocketalk.
- UBHS was the Royal Society of Chemistry Top of the Bench competition finalists.
Although last year was highly successful, we want to make 2025 even better for everyone in our school community. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead.
