Developing learner confidence and resilience
Confidence and effective communication are essential life skills that every young person should master. At UBHS, we are committed to fostering these qualities, with our curriculum intentionally designed to nurture learners’ self-assurance, teamwork, and resilience. Beyond our broad, balanced, and creative curriculum, we also offer a wide range of extracurricular activities that give learners the opportunity to further develop these key skills.
Last week, many learners participated in a workshop led by the University of Leeds, organized by our Creative Department. This project helped learners boost their confidence, enhance their creative abilities, collaborate effectively, and develop investigative skills. In a similar vein, another group engaged in the ‘Talk the Talk’ oracy workshop organized by our English Department, aimed at strengthening their communication skills, building resilience, and fostering a positive mindset.
At UBHS, we are dedicated to equipping our learners with the essential skills they need not only to excel academically but also to grow into confident, well-rounded individuals ready for their next steps in education or career.
