At Upper Batley High School we welcome everybody into our community. Our Staff, Governors, learners and parents work together to make Upper Batley High School a welcoming, safe and happy place where learners can achieve their full potential and develop as ‘Tomorrows Successful Men’.
At Upper Batley High School this means quality of opportunity must be a reality for all our learners. We achieve this through adopting a ‘Person Centred Approach’ and the attention we pay to the different groups of children within our school, thus providing a positive learning experience that enables all our learners make the greatest possible progress and achieve their full potential in our caring, supportive and fully inclusive school.
Our SEND provision allows learners with learning difficulties the opportunity to access and follow a varied curriculum, in addition to tailored learning that provides life skills that raises learner’s self-confidence and prepares them for adult life.
We are committed to narrowing the attainment gap between SEND and non-SEND learners. This may include short-term intervention learning programmes, before and after school skills groups and other learning interventions developed to personalise learning that supports their learning journey.
All children and young people are entitled to an education that enables them to make progress so that they:
- achieve their best
- become confident individuals living fulfilling lives
- make a successful transition into adulthood.
