Macmillan Coffee Morning
On Tuesday 26th September, Upper Batley High school held its biggest ever Macmillan Coffee Morning. Learners, staff and parents had baked some amazing cakes and buns and the morning was enjoyed by everyone. The school raised a fantastic £190.
Mrs Clyne and Mrs Dent who organised the event said “Upper Batley High School is a school at the heart of our community. Charity work is a fundamental part of our work and our boys are truly dedicated to supporting others less fortunate than themselves. Cancer is an illness which has affected many members of our learning community and we all need to do whatever we can to support the amazing work of the Macmillan nurses and the medical research and development work in this area.”
The success of Tuesday morning shows the high quality of student leadership we have in school and our learners were exemplary in their baking, and serving tea and coffee , they even ran tours of our school so parents and prospective parents could see outstanding lessons taking place and see our excellent facilities. We really are the school of choice for boys in Kirklees.
