Reading

This week our whole school community is having a big push on reading. Reading helps our emotional health and wellbeing. Afterall, you are never alone when you have a good book. When travel is still restricted due to the global pandemic, reading can widen our horizons and take us to places we are not currently able to visit, and take us to all those places we would love to go. Reading can also be great escapism whether you enjoy a good detective story, a thriller, a comedy, a romance, a mystery, a sci-fi or a fantasy. If you say you don't like reading, perhaps you just haven't found the right type of book for you yet.  Reading is such an important life skill, and a great free activity to do as a family. Books can be borrowed from our school library, read online, or borrowed from our Community Library. Just contact the main school reception if you'd like to book an appointment to visit our community library- you can help yourself to a wide range of books, games or activities. These resources are all totally free of charge.  There is something there to suit the interests of the whole family. Take the time this week to ask your son what he is reading? We encourage all of our boys to read for 30 minutes each day to help them relax, and to increase both their reading age, and widen their vocabulary.
