Innovation is essential
In times of crisis opportunities emerge to do things differently, innovation becomes essential and actions are adopted at a speed that might be unthinkable in more stable times. At UBHS our expert staff team has worked incredibly hard to adapt to the new 'virtual' way of working and provide high quality learning experiences through Blended Learning. Our website has been adapted to assist learners, and their parents/carers in how to effectively utilize all aspects of our Blended Learning programme, with advice booklets, How To videos and much more. We have invested heavily in ICT support providing over 400 devices to our young people who need them. Most importantly we are always here for our learners and their families, with Pastoral Leaders making weekly phone calls to check on wellbeing and you can contact us anytime. We are always here for you.
So we commence the new half term in anticipation of the government announcing when schools can return, and we cannot wait until the 'new normal' begins in school with more young people on site again, learning in our classrooms and enjoying the full spectrum of school life.
This half term break saw some exciting developments with NASA's Perseverance landing on Mars, and on Friday the first colour photos were shared of the surface of the red planet. There is a whole universe out there for our boys to explore-their future is in their hands. Hard work, determination, resilience and perseverance are key, and are never more important than during times of a global pandemic. Hard work now, builds a brighter future. What do you want your future to hold for you?
