Children in Need
Fundraising was in full swing at Upper Batley High School on Friday in aid of Children in Need. It all started with a group of learners collecting parking fees from staff and visitors on the drive at 7.30am. The school council also arranged various events at break and lunchtime, which included a penalty shootout against Mr Julienne in goal and Mrs Farrar's bakesale where the boys managed to sell over 160 buns and cakes in under 10 minutes!
The day culminated in our first ever gunge-a-teacher event. Votes and donations had been coming in all week and Mr Hazelwood was the unfortunate member of staff to be gunged at the end of the school day in front of a huge groups of learners.
Mr Farrar who helped organise the day said "It was a great success today and we were able to exceed our target of £700 to eventually raise over £1080 - a new record for UBHS"
