Ellis Radcliffe

Ellis Radcliffe 2010-2015

Ellis gained 5 A-C at GCSE, he played a huge part in the building and maintenance of the Upper Batley High School Barnyard. He then went onto the Grimsby Institute College based in Grimsby where he is studying Public Services-Uniform for Marines.

Ellis is hoping to join the Marines at the end of his 2 year course.

Arshad Ranguni

Arshad Ranguni 2007-2012

Gained 6 A-C and a Distinction in Computing Arshad then went onto study Applied Science and Double Sport at Mirfield Grammer Sixth form. He is currently at Leeds Beckett University where he is now studying Sport and Exercise Science. Arshad is hoping to become a Physiotherapist or Nurse.

6 A to C’s B in English Literature and B in Art Studying at Huddersfield New College Law, Art and English Literature.

Darren Pearson

Darren Pearson - 1983- 1988

After leaving in 1988 Darren enrolled in A Youth Training Scheme and worked for a Kitchen Manufacturer here in Batley, when the company closed he went on to work for fox’s biscuits and Rentokil Initial, Whilst working for these company’s Darren worked continually on evenings and weekend trying to build up his own business as a Kitchen and Bathroom installer, he did this for five years, and in 2004 he took the plunge and officially stared his own business. 12 years later his company as gone from strength to strength, and even branches out to lots of different counties.

Fayaz Kasia

Fayaz Kasia -2006-2011

14 GCSE’s – 12 A*-C’s Greenhead College - 4 A Levels Currently having a Gap year – he took part in a BBC TV programme which was shown in March 2014. Fayaz has advised viewers to watch it on BBC iPlayer instead. The programme will also be part of the resources available to the GCSE exam boards and teachers for their delivery of Religious Education. This resource will be available for the next 5 years via BBC Learning to help students prepare for their GCSE.

David Miller

David Miller - 1992 to 1994

David attended which was then Batley High School for Boys in 1987 to 1992 , he left with eight GCSEs, ranging from Bs and Cs. He went onto Wakefield College in 1992 to 1994 to study BTEC National Diploma in Media Production Triple Distinction. (David was the first student from college media and Performing Arts department to achieve this). In 1994 to 1998 David attended Edinburgh Napier University (BA Hons Journalism 2:1 classification). RMIT University Melbourne 1996 (BA Hons Journalism international scholarship with distinction).

Jaabir Gharda

Jaabir Gharda 1998-2003

Jaabir gained 10 Gcse’s @ A-G, he took a year out then returned to us in the 6th Form, studying towards A levels. The next stage of his career was also at BBEC, he became one of the schools Apprentice ICT Technicians, he worked within the school for 2½ years in conjunction with Kirklees college . Following on from this, he did a Foundation Degree at Leeds Metropolitan. He is currently working with a private company in Huddersfield as a software engineer.
